T-Mobile G2 Touch phone
The T-Mobile G2 Touch phone hit the shelves in July of 2009. A long anticipated phone, it has been well worth the wait. One of the first things that came to our attention with this phone is the nice design that it has. Not trying to be a simple clone of the other full touch screen phones, it has a rather pleasant and visually pleasing slight J curve to the mouthpiece. This is a nice bit of design.
The T-Mobile G2 Touch phone is based on the Android operating system which a lot of folks love. It allows for easy use of Microsoft based applications, plus it has a great user interface. And with the HTC Sense integration, the applications certainly render better and smoothly. Although some of the integration is still a bit sluggish. Facebook comes to mind as such an application that is cumbersome. But overall, the Android OS aided by HTC Sense, does a terrific job of making this a great overall experience for the user.
One gripe is that the QWERTY keyboard is a little finicky. As an example, in the landscape mode you very often find that the “Enter” key is missing so you have to go back to portrait to access it. Yeah, quite annoying. The 5 mega pixel is a nice bonus and it takes great pictures. The only problem is that there is no flash, and this makes it incredibly difficult to take low light shots without adding some shakiness to the image.
